The Brügger & Thomet GHM9 is a straight-blowback 9x19mm pistol-caliber carbine designed by Brügger & Thomet, intended as a simpler, more economical alternative to their APC9 line. Rather than any set of functional or technical terms, the abbreviation "GHM" stands for "GrassHopper Mouse"; this is a reference to its intended market niche (i.e. a competitor to the CZ Scorpion Evo 3 carbines), as grasshopper mice are natural predators of scorpions.
