Hi- you have already been told your file names are too generic, this includes the ones you have most recently uploaded. File names like Black Hawk Down shooting.jpg and SWAT in action.jpg are still too vague names that give little context to what film they belong to. Please refer to TheExplodingBarrel's previous message on how to name your files to see what we are ideally looking for. Or you can also look around at other screenshots people have uploaded to see an ideal format. Thank you. --PyramidHead (talk) 18:36, 1 September 2023 (UTC) | Hi- you have already been told your file names are too generic, this includes the ones you have most recently uploaded. Welcome to IMFDB
Before you do any editing please take the time to read the Rules, Standards and Principles. This is a very important document that explains how this website is setup as well as telling you what is and isn't allowed. If it is determined by an admin that you have not read these rules, your account will be suspended. Continued non-compliance may result in a permanent ban. After that you should also read the IMFDB Screencapping Guide and the IMFDB Style Guide to familiarize yourself with the image and formatting requirements for pages you create.
There are a number of pages that desperately need your help. You can find these Incomplete pages here.
If you have any questions, feel free to post them here but make sure to sign your post by typing --~~~~.
Finally, IMFDB has a forum set up here that is only available to registered members. There is lots of good stuff to see there. If you would like to join the forum, please post HERE and an account will be created for you.
Now, HAPPY EDITING! bunni (talk) 12:46, 15 May 2023 (UTC)
Mono con Gallinas
Hello,
I've started Talk:Mono con Gallinas for you to write the page on, as you are not supposed to write pages in the description of image files. I've also setup the formatting there to aid you. Remember to properly name your screencaptures of the film - "Browning Hi Power" is a generic name that refers to the reference image file of the pistol; you need to include the media's title first in the filename (hence "Mono con Gallinas Hi-Power or abbreviated "McG Hi-Power"). You also don't need to reupload existing images onto this wiki.--AgentGumby (talk) 23:54, 1 August 2023 (UTC)
- When adding images to a page, don't use "thumb|left"; this causes the text to wrap around the image. Using thumb|none will prevent this. TheExplodingBarrel (talk) 13:00, 19 August 2023 (UTC)
Filenames
Again, please use less generic filenames for your screenshots. A filename like "Smith & Wesson Model 625.jpg" is too generic and could be easily mistaken for a gun image. As per the rules, screenshot filenames must include the title of the media they came from; ideally they should be formatted like "(abbreviated media title)-(gun name)-(screenshot number), so in the case of this screenshot something like "RRR-SW625-1". Hello, and thank you for your little help, i'm sorry about that, but i didn't realized in that case. I just want it to put it exactly like is in the generic names. The next time i'll check in that.
File names (second notice)
Hi- you have already been told your file names are too generic, this includes the ones you have most recently uploaded. File names like Black Hawk Down shooting.jpg and SWAT in action.jpg are still too vague names that give little context to what film they belong to. Please refer to TheExplodingBarrel's previous message on how to name your files to see what we are ideally looking for. Or you can also look around at other screenshots people have uploaded to see an ideal format. Thank you. --PyramidHead (talk) 18:36, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
