When Locken asks why he did that, Jerome identifies the handgun the officer carried as a "9 millimeter Star" and says that SFPD only packs "regulation Smith & Wesson .38's". During the harbor shootout, Mac (Burt Young) is seen with a bright nickel Star Model B, likely standing in for his M1911A1.
Submachine Guns
(Fake) Uzi (mocked up MAC-10)
Jerome Miller (Bo Hopkins) is seen using a MAC-10 that has been visually modified to resemble the Uzi. The SMG is fitted with Uzi barrel, front and rear sights, and a folding stock. This was one of the earliest films to use this particular type of mockup, and similar prop weapons were used in several other Hollywood movies, including The Dogs of War, Stripes and Raw Deal (1986).
MAC-10
Unmodified MAC-10's are seen used by Mike Locken (James Caan) and Jerome Miller (Bo Hopkins).
Madsen M50

Ithaca 37
The Ithaca 37 shotgun appears to be used by a hitman riding in a garbage truck.
