The main rifle made for Mel Gibson's character was made by Frank House. To read an article about how Gibson learned to load and fire for The Patriot read Aim Small, Miss Small by Mark A. Baker. This was a column written for Muzzleloader Magazine, and can be found in A Pilgrim's Journey Volume Two:1996-2005 by Mark A. Baker. --Markethunter 21:38, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Movie Goof
In the scene where Gibson's character rescues his oldest son, he tells Samuel to reload for his brother Nathan after his first shot. Yet, you don't see any reloading accoutrements with the them. The only one who has a powder horn and shot pouch is Gibson. --Markethunter 18:37, 24 September 2010 (UTC)
