The Mission (Chinese title: "Cheung Fo") is a 1999 Hong Kong crime film directed by Johnnie To. It centers around a group of five very different men who work as hired killers part time, and are brought together to protect a triad crime boss from an assassination conspiracy. Through several action set pieces, the men prove to be a great team, and begin to bond as a united group, but the five of them must point their guns at each other when it is revealed that one of them is having an affair with the wife of the crime boss they were hired to protect.
The following weapons are used in the film The Mission:
Pistols
Taurus PT99
Near the start of the film, James (Lam Suet) gives the group a number of pistols to use on their "mission." Curtis (Anthony Wong) chooses for himself a Taurus PT99 as his main sidearm throughout the film.
Browning Hi-Power
Roy (Francis Ng) selects a Browning Hi-Power as his sidearm of choice. In a continuity error, the Hi-Power appears as Shin's gun near the end of the mall shootout instead of his Glock 17
Glock 17
Shin (Jackie Lui) uses a Glock 17 as his sidearm.
Colt M1911
Mike (Roy Cheung) uses an M1911 as his sidearm. In the film it appears that he is the best out of the group at handling pistols, proving so during the mall shootout and even engaging a sniper with his 1911 early in the film. He is also particular with his pistol, telling James to add two more pounds to the recoil spring when he is first given the gun. During the warehouse shootout, Mike's 1911 has an attached red dot sight and compensator.
Beretta 92FS
This is the sidearm used by James (Lam Suet) and uses it for most of the film. In the continuity error during the mall shootout, Roy's Browning Hi-Power changes to a Beretta 92 near the end. Also carried by some of the hired guns who try to kill Boss Lung.
