One Tough Cop is a 1998 police drama that dramatizes the exploits of Det. Bo Dietl, one of the most decorated officers in the history of the New York Police Department. The film stars Stephen Baldwin as Dietl. The film's low budget meant that it was filmed mostly in Toronto rather than New York City, and the setting was updated to the 1990s, even though the real-life Det. Dietl only served in the NYPD from 1970 to 1985.
