Nice, but where's the trigger? This article or section is incomplete. You can help IMFDB by expanding it. |
The following guns were used in the movie Apocalypse Now
M1911A1
An M1911A1 is seen on Capt. Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen) nightstand in hotel bedroom table in Saigon at the start of the film. Lt. Col. Bill Kilgore (Robert Duvall) uses one as his sidearm throughout the movie.
M16A1
M2HB
Fake GE M134 Minigun
An M134 minigun is seen mounted on one of the UH-1 choppers during the famous raid scene. Its possible this weapon is a prop as the M134 was a new weapon at the time. It is more likely that the M134 was simply what was mounted in the helicopter by the *Laos Army, who loaned all the helicopters used to film the scene. The M134 would have been unlikely to have been deployed at the time and place of the setting.
- Apocalypse Now was filmed in the Philippines who also provided the helicopters.
sorry that´s not true, in part the Us army used the minigun since 1964 (was designed one year before)it was used on cobras and loaches as main weapons, the fake on the movie it´s the mounting, no miniguns was installed such way (in the doorgunner post),but it was installed just in the center of
the aft cab, due to the weigth of the guns and ammo.
M79 grenade launcher
Used by The Roach to kill a NVA soldier hiding in the barbed wire during the scene at the Do Lung bridge. Roach had customized his with a tiger-striped paint job.
M60 machine gun
Mounted on both Col. Kilgore's choppers during the battle at Vinh Din Drop and the Navy PBR used by the crew to travel up river.
Browning M2
AK-47
Simonov SKS
ZU-23 AA Gun
M16A1
(Some of Kurtz's men are armed with M16's)
AK-47
Winchester 1200
(Lt. Colby seems to be carrying a Winchester 1200.)
M60 machine gun
(One of the guards that escort Cpt. Willard to Col. Kurtz is carrying an M60.)
M1 Carbine
Most of the colonists seem to be armed with this weapon.
