Case Grüninger is a 2014 Austrian-Swiss televsion drama directed by Alain Gsponer. In August 1938, Switzerland closes the border to Austria and Germany. This deprives the Jews fleeing from the National Socialists of the opportunity to return to neutral Switzerland. But the captain of the border police in St. Gallen defies the regulations. Paul Grüninger re-dates visas and thus saves the lives of many people. Police chief Rothmund sends the ambitious young inspector Paul Frei to St. Gallen. He gets on the trail of Grüninger and his assistant Dreifuss.

Schmit-Rubin Karabiner M1911
The Karabiner M1911 is the main used rifle for Swiss border guards.
Karabiner 31
Some Swiss Border guards and soldiers are armed with K31 Rifles.
Karabiner 98k
The Karabiner 98k is used by German border guards which is not entirely correct since the Karabiner 98AZ was the most issued rifle. Another note is that the Austrian border guards who were drafted into German service after the Anschluss were still equipped with their Steyr Mannlicher M1895 rifles.
