Legend is a 2015 British-French crime thriller written and directed by Brian Helgeland (the screenwriter of L.A. Confidential). Set in 1960s London, the film tells the true story of Ron and Reggie Kray (both portrayed by Tom Hardy), twin brothers who have the underworld under control and force each of their opponents to their knees. When Reggie is sentenced to a lengthy prison term, the mentally unstable Ronnie spirals out of control, driving the clubs and casino the twins own to ruin. The Empire of the Kray Twins threatens to break and Reggie must make every effort to prevent its decline. The story of the Krays had previously been told in the 1990 feature The Krays.
