Orita M1941 (original Romanian name "Md. 1941 Orita géppisztoly") is a Romanian submachine gun. It was named after Capt. Marin Orița who was the chief of the project (real designers of this weapon were Czech engineer Leopold Jašek and Romanian Nicolae Sterca). Orita SMG entered service only in 1943. It was manufactured by Cugir weapon factory for long time. A simplified version of Orita appeared in 1948. In this modification Orita was manufactured with either wooden stock, like previous model, or folding metal stock and had only full auto fire mode. Orita SMGs were used by Romanian army until 1960s while the paramilitary organisation "Gărzile Patriotice" ("The Patriotic Guard") used Orita even in 1970s.
