Information

The AR-10 is the .308 varient of the AR-15, the civilian model of the M16. It uses a 5, 10 or 20 round magazine and fires in semi-automatic operation(with the exception of the first prototype). The gun is rarely used in movies, though in Fight Club, Edward Norton says he will bring an Armalite AR-10 gas-operated semi-automatic rifle into work to threaten his boss. The gun is a well known target rifle and hunting rifle.

AR-10 battle rifles that fire 7.62x51mm NATO. From top to bottom, Standard, Portuguese and Sudanese.

The original Eugene Stoner prototype model of the AR-10. This model was built before the original M16 models based on using the 7.62x51mm NATO rounds used in the M14 rifle of that time. Unlike the AR-15 and later AR-10 models, this model is fully-automatic. It was used as an all purpose weapon able to be carried as an infantry rifle, a belt fed machine gun, a sniper rifle, or a grenade launcher. It is most easily identified by its top mounted charging handle under the carry handle. Later models would incorporate the M16 type charging handle.

  • Used by Captain Tankboy as he trained one of his team during Op WW2 in Tankboy.

Armalite's modern update of the classic AR-10 prototype. It can be identified as an AR-10B because of the modern M16 style sights, bayonet lug and muzzle break. It also tends to have an OD stock. This model is semi-automatic.
