The Dead Zone is the 1983 feature film adaptation of the Stephen King novel. The film was directed by David Cronenberg and stars Christopher Walken as a schoolteacher who discovers that he has gained psychic powers after awakening from a coma. The film's cast includes Tom Skerritt and Martin Sheen. The Dead Zone was also adapted into a television series that starred Anthony Michael Hall and aired for six seasons in the US on Paramount Network Television and the USA Network.

Handguns
Smith & Wesson Model 28
Sheriff Bannerman (Tom Skerritt) uses a Smith & Wesson Model 28 as his sidearm. Deputy Frank Dodd (Nicholas Campbell) also carries one as his sidearm, his mother Henrietta Dodd (Colleen Dewhurst) later is seen firing it. Dodd's Model 28 has black rubber combat grips.
Heckler & Koch P7
Sonny Elliman (Géza Kovács), the bodyguard of Greg Stillson (Martin Sheen) carries a Heckler & Koch P7. It can be identified as a P7 PSP because of its heel mounted magazine release. Sonny carries it in his waistband and ends up firing it at the end of the film. Stillson later obtains Sonny's PSP and is seen holding it in Johnny Smith's last vision.
