Gwendoline immigrated from Singapore to San Francisco at eleven. She won Miss Teen Chinatown SF, Miss Asian America & Miss Chinatown USA. She graduated from UCLA Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa and has a diploma in piano from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. Her father was head of the National University of Singapore and her brother is head of molecular genetics at Cambridge University in England. Her uncle, George Yeo, is the former Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs; serving for over 20 years.

She voiced Domino in the superhero game ''Deadpool'' (2013), Yuma in ''[[Far Cry 4]]'', and Rika Raja in ''[[Uncharted 2: Among Thieves]]'' and ''[[Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception]]''.
