I'll be honest it looks very much like a M3 Grease Gun from WW2, it does look very similar. It does look a little like a MP40 at first glance. [[user:geran30]]

It has been bugging me since the trailer, what is the gun covered in snow that is seen firing? That was cool. And if no one else wants to do this movie, I'll buy it within the first week. - Gunmaster45

I think it was his Beretta 92FS, and that is one sweet effect. Please screencap it GM, you're one of the best screencappers here.--Alienqueen11 01:04, 17 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks. I'll try soon. - Gunmaster45
Ex beat me to it. And it appears it was a SIG that was covered in snow. That's what I thought it was. I might still buy it later and add shots but it has lost some priority now. - Gunmaster45

M4A3?

What is an M4A3? So other variant of the M4. Never heard of it. Is it a name a civilian brand makes? Excalibur01 11:01, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

I think it is a case of confusion since some people don't understand that an A2 reciever Colt Commando is not an M4, so they assume the M4A3 is the removable carry handle variant. - Gunmaster45
There's no such thing as an "M4A3". -MT2008

Max Payne on iTunes

I rented this on iTunes last night. It looks really good in High Def. Here is a comparison:

Not a huge change, besides a much higher resolution, but would anyone be OK if I uploaded new higer-def versions of all these shots? -MT2008

For the M92F here, there isn't much difference. If you can get a better shot of that SIG and some of the other shots that are darker, go ahead. I still didn't get the MP-40 Excalibur01 16:34, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Well, again, there won't be a difference if you're just looking at the page normally, but if you click to zoom in, it's very high-res and a lot more detailed. I will try to get the MP-40 (and the AKs from that scene), plus the Glock, and better shots of the P226R. -MT2008
Figures, I bought the DVD and can't do anything with it (doubt I'll watch it again, it kind of sucked). To be honest, the Itunes pics don't really impress me. They look a little brighter but they aren't really any clearer. - Gunmaster45
You did click on it, right? It's much higher-res. -MT2008 19:26, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
It's bigger and a little bit clearer. But my DVD puts out bigger picks than Ex's. Mine would probably look better than his. - Gunmaster45

Really need to know

Ex, did you use a DVD to screencap this or some type of online download? Because I bought the DVD and it's pretty much useless now unless your caps are replacable. I wouldn't dare replacing anything without knowing otherwise. - Gunmaster45

I'll be uploading screencaps this week. - Gunmaster45
If you have better screenshots, go right ahead and replace what you think is better than what I got Excalibur01 04:55, 9 March 2009 (UTC)

Sig continuity error

There was this part when he shoots BB, it might be a 228R, the 228R also has the new square trigger guard. GunnutHk

SIG is an acronym GunnutHK, make sure you write it that way. - Gunmaster45

Some wallpapers

I was just messing around with some of my screencaps and editing and I made a few wallpaper-esque pics, let me know what you guys think:

I know they aren't perfect but I didn't spend too long on them, I was just messing around. How do they look? - Gunmaster45

  • Just a thought but that Charter Arms Undercover Max is seen cleaning, I would think that is the gun fired through the holster on his ankle, I mean, the Taurus Judge is clearly worn in a holster on his belt, and the holster-fired gun is on his ankle. Besides, how in the holy hell would ya keep a Taurus Judge on your ankle? They're pretty goddamned big.
It isn't his ankle, is on his hip. You even see him reach for his hip. It almost appears to be a leg strap holster, so I'm open to the thought of it being the CA. - Gunmaster45

Holster Shooting

The pic of the revolver firing through the holster should be in the charter arms undercover section and not the Taurus judge. he keeps the judge in the small of his back.

Right-hand Left-hand shooting

I'm a lefty and I noticed mark whalberg is too. He shoots like this the whole movie except when he has a Colt Detective Special and he shoots at the thug who killed his wife. It was probably nothing but I thougt it was weird.

About the Unknown SMG

Out of curiosity, how do we know that it's not an MP40?

It's got a bolt on the right side, the sights are all the way on the back of the gun, and it is too long. - Gunmaster45
Smith & Wesson M76? The Winchester
That was my first guess but the barrel shroud and basic shape differs. - Gunmaster45
AH-HA! M3A1 "Grease Gun"! The Winchester
How could it be an M3A1? This weapon doesn't have a bolt handle, it has a finger notch in the bolt. Plus the weapon in the screenshot has no ejection port cover, which it would if it was an M3A1. The stock is clearly an MP40 folding type, not a sliding stock as on the M3A1. I would say it could be a Star Z-45, the Spanish copy of the MP40, which does have the bolt on the right side. The only problem is that the barrel doesn't look like what is found on a Z-45. Or it could just be a trick of the light that makes it appear as there is a bolt on the right side, and it's actually just an MP40.--Phillb36 03:13, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
The sights are off too. It has sights like a Grease gun but isn't one. I thought it might be a Portuguese FBP Submachine Gun, but that doesn't compare either. - Gunmaster45
I think it is a Madsen Gun, but I am not so sure. The armorer might have customized the gun. - GunnutHk

Just guessing but by the way this smg looks like the M56 submachine gun made in Yugoslavia. Looking at the folding stock and it's hinge both match, the rounded end as well as the notch at the back of the weapon look very similar, the sight in the center of the weapon look similar as well, the curved magazine looks the same and the bolt handle is on the right side. Looking at it and looking at the movie pic seem to match up. - Shotmasta00

I personally think it's a Sten Drjuki 21:10, 23 June 2009 (UTC)
