Spy City is a British-German-Czech drama television series written by William Boyd. Berlin in 1961, the construction of the Berlin Wall is about to begin. Berlin is ruled by the four occupying powers; the British MI6, the French SDECE, the Soviet KGB, and the U.S. CIA have their agents stationed all over the city and several double agents have been recruited in all four intelligence services. British Fielding Scott, an agent of MI6, is supposed to escort an East German scientist across the border, but he is killed just before he escapes, along with his family. From now on, Scott has the task of finding the traitor in his own ranks who betrayed that the scientist wants to defect. At the same time, he must avoid that a wrong decision on his part triggers a nuclear first strike of the opposite side.
