Black '47 is a 2018 Irish Luxembourgish movie directed by Lance Daly. Ireland in 1847, during the Great Famine: to return to his family, Irish Ranger Feeney leaves his post in the British Army. Despite his shocking experiences during the war, he is horrified when he comes face to face with the destruction caused by the famine and the brutalization of his fellow men. Once home, he finds that there is nothing he can do for his family, as his mother has starved to death and his brother has been executed by the British. Feeney decides to take revenge and takes up the fight against the English occupiers. They in turn set the experienced English bounty hunter Hannah on him, with whom Feeney has a common war past.
