Skyscraper is a 2018 thriller directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber (Central Intelligence) and starring Dwayne Johnson as Will Sawyer, a former FBI HRT leader who lost his leg in the line of duty, now working as a security consultant for a state of the art skyscraper opening in Hong Kong. During a visit to the building with his family, Sawyer finds himself trying to save them from terrorists who have taken over. The cast includes Neve Campbell, Chin Han, Byron Mann, Roland Møller and Pablo Schreiber.

Some HKPF officers as well as some of Both's men can be seen armed with the Norinco QBZ-97B carbine. Since the movie was primarily filmed in Canada, the production crew likely used Canadian film armorers who had Norinco QBZ-type rifles.
