Darkman is a 1990 film directed by Sam Raimi about a scientist-turned-superhero who sets out for revenge after he's disfigured by violent gangsters.

Durant's sidearm. Durant's goon, Rick, uses what appears to be a nickle-plated version with custom engraving when he kills Westlake's lab assistant.
