On board the train, Ratchett (Richard Widmark) shows Hercule Poirot (Albert Finney) a nickel Colt Model 1908 Vest Pocket that he said he keeps under his pillow as he sleeps. Poirot later removes the pistol from under Ratchett's pillow after he is found murdered.
