The Most Wanted Man (original title L'Ennemi public No 1 or L'Ennemi public numéro un) is a 1953 French crime comedy directed by Henri Verneuil and starring Fernandel as Joe Calvet, a very myopic man who is by chance taken for a notorious mobster, and not only by police, but also by gangsters who make a prison break for him...
The following weapons were used in the film The Most Wanted Man (L'Ennemi public No 1):
Numerous uniformed police officers and prison guards carry revolvers that appear to be French Mle 1892 Revolvers, standing for Colts.
Submachine Guns
M1A1 Thompson
M1A1 Thompsons are used by both criminals and police. Some of them are fitted with M1921-style foregrips to look more "mobster-style" (same version can be seen in Grisbi that was filmed a year later).
During the attack on the prison several criminals are armed with MP40 SMGs. Police detectives also carry MP40s during the attempt to arrest Calvet on the farm.
Sten Mk II
During the attack on the prison several criminals are armed with Sten Mk II SMGs. Police detectives also carry Stens during the attempt to arrest Calvet on the farm.
M3 "Grease Gun"
Several M3 "Grease Gun" SMGs are seen during the attack on the prison.
Shotguns
Winchester Model 1897
In the final scene several police officers carry pump action shotguns that appear to be Winchester Model 1897.
