One of the more powerful ARs in the game, but also not the most accurate. This rifle seems to be based on several AK variants. In the game, it was designed and manufactured by Chinese industrial conglomerate Norinco for the People's Liberation Army during the Resource Wars. This AK fires 5.56 NATO. It has the overall appearance of the AK family of weapons, specifically the AK-107 assault rifle (barrel, muzzle brake, gas tube, front sight), but also it is like the RPD machine gun (front handguard, possibly rear sight) and also the Type 56-II assault rifle, of actual Chinese production, although only for export, the metallic folding frame stock.

An H&K G3 based assault rifle. The number in the name obviously references the H&K 91, and cosmeticlly, it looks like the Spanish CETME rifles, but the biggest thing is that, in game, this assault rifle firest 5.56 NATO like the AK in the game. Or it could have been modeled after the CETME B or L model which are chambered in 5.56. Ingame wise, the most likely reason for the same ammo as the AK was to not worry about different types of ammo for 2 assault rifles that are so common in the game.

This was more of a reference to the Road Warrior movie since it has a scope attached to it. In the game it fires, accurately, the .44 Magnum. An unscoped version is used be the mysterious stranger if you get the perk that features him. The unscoped version cannot be acquired without a cheat or something.
The Model 29 shoots .44 magnum rounds, like in real life. It is usually found with a scope, which is probably a reference to Road Warrior. The only unscoped version in the game is used by the "Mysterious Stranger", who briefly appears during combat at later levels to finish off wounded enemies. It can be gotten through cheats, but this is not recommended because it is far more powerful than the default.

Well I think that it really looks like the SV-98 but in the game it shoots on semi-auto, not bolt action.

Ok, this weapon, althought named Lincoln's Repeater was obviously intended to be based off of Lincoln's Spencer rifle, but the design of this rifle ingame, and how it was loaded is that of a Henry rifle, 15 rounds of a .44 caliber black powder cartridge rimfire rifle or the .44 Henry round. This rifle also has a wooden handguard in front, very similar to a Winchester Model 1866. And it is possible to modify the rifle to fire .44 Magnum rounds, but it was more a thing in the game so that you can find a semi-commong ammo type that can be found in the game than anything else. Despite what the creators had intended, they got their rifles mixed up when they called this rifle "Lincoln's Repeater".

This rifle also has a wooden handguard in front, very similar to a Winchester Model 1866. While it is possible to modify the rifle to fire .44 Magnum rounds, it was mainly for gameplay reasons because the Magnum round was already implemented and it got confusing to be using 2 identical rounds (similar logic was used with the .32 rifle's ammo).

This rifle is intented to be the Lincoln's Henry Rifle, offered to President Abraham Lincoln, with golden ornaments, but the rifle has in the game a wooden handguard on the forend similar to the Winchester 1866. "Now, I'm not quite sure, but I do believe that the 10mm pistol is basically a dressed up IMI Desert Eagle.  You can tell by the grip, and serrated end of the slide that it is the Desert Eagle.  Can someone verify this?"
The back end Sights, Hammer, slide and grip are definitely from a Desert Eagle. However the Barrel and front of the Gun are similar to the Dan Wesson PPC revolvers, having an enlarged front that is weighed down to reduce recoil, as well of having a metal canister-like tube underneath the barrel. It looks like Betheseda's idea of what IMI's future designs would have looked like.

The following guns were seen used in this post apocalyptic world. Most were just based from REAL life guns. No blasters or plasma rifles, or dart guns.

AK - "Chinese Assault Rifle"

One of the more powerful ARs in the game, but also not the most accurate. This rifle seems to be based on several AK variants. In the game, it was designed and manufactured by Chinese industrial conglomerate Norinco for the People's Liberation Army during the Resource Wars. It has the overall appearance of the AK family of weapons, specifically the AK-107 assault rifle (barrel, muzzle brake, gas tube, front sight), but also has a few similarities with the RPD machine gun (front handguard, possibly rear sight) and has the Type 56-II assault rifle's stock, of actual Chinese production, although only for export. It also shoots 5.56mm rounds, like an AK101.

R91 Assault Rifle

A CETME/G3 based assault rifle. The number in the name obviously references the H&K 91, and cosmetically it looks like the Spanish CETME rifles. It shoots 5.56 NATO rounds, so it is most likely an HK33 or a CETME B or L.

Smith & Wesson Model 29

The Model 29 shoots .44 magnum rounds, like in real life. It is usually found with a scope, which is probably a reference to Road Warrior. The only unscoped version in the game is used by the "Mysterious Stranger", who briefly appears during combat at later levels to finish off wounded enemies. It can be gotten through cheats, but this is not recommended because it is far more powerful than the default.

Shansei C96 Chinese Pistols

As the name implies, this is based on various Chinese C96 lookalikes. The Fallout version is chambered for 10mm.

Sawed off Double Barrel shotgun

One of two types of shotgun that can be used in game. Another Road Warrior reference.

10mm SMG

The only submachine gun in the game. Its outward appearance seems like it is based on the MP5K without the foregrip and a more boxy upper receiver. It also has a Skorpion-like folding stock.

Sniper rifle

Several versions of the same design are used in the game. It's hard to tell, but this gun may be based off the SV98 bolt-action rifle. However, it is chambered for .308 and is semi-auto.

Combat Shotgun

This fictional shotgun has an overall appearence of the PPSh-41 from the fire selector switch located inside the trigger guard, the barrel's protruding muzzle-brake and the drum magazine. The way the reloading procedure is operated also points to the real PPSh-41, but this weapon acts more like an Armsel Striker shotgun.

.32 Hunting Rifle

It is a Mauser-type bolt-action rifle, and resembles such the Remington 700 and Winchester 70 series. It uses the .32 Caliber Round. It is interesting to note that while this is a very accurate weapon, the in-game weapon model does not have rear or front sights, nor does it have a scope. In reality, this would make the weapon extremely difficult to aim at longer ranges and would render it almost totally worthless beyond close-range encounters, even to a skilled marksman. Caliber may refer to the 8x57 mauser round, which is .32 caliber, or less likely, the .32 winchester special and .32-20, both usually levergun calibers.

Lincoln's Repeater

This weapon intended to be based off of Lincoln's Spencer rifle, but the design of this rifle ingame, and how it was loaded, is that of a Henry rifle, 15 rounds of .44 caliber black powder cartridge rimfire rifle or the .44 Henry round. This rifle also has a wooden handguard in front, very similar to a Winchester Model 1866. Ruger Blackhawk

Special .44 magnum earned by completing "Agatha's Quest." Equipped with a scope. Called Blackhawk, but looks somewhat like a Redhawk. Actually looks like a hybrid, with Blackhawk frame and Redhawk style double-action grip.

Ruger SP-101

While not usable, it appears on the collectible "Guns and Bullets" magazine. Clearly seen during loading sequences.

M2 Flamethrower

One of the more common heavy weapons in the game. The Fallout version has a shorter range than the real one.
