The Miroku Liberty Chief is a revolver produced by the Miroku Corporation in Japan. The Miroku appears to have been made for Japanese police (which were armed with the Nambu Model 60 revolver), though given its time of manufacture, it might have also been produced as a competition piece as much as a Nambu replacement. The Japanese police used revolvers during that period, however, the Japanese preferred to use semiautos as soon as they were able, and so Miroku instead almost completely exported the gun to the US under the 'EIG' and/or 'Liberty Chief' names. Dimension-wise, it was pretty much comparable to a S&W J-frame. It had a Smith & Wesson "Chiefs Special"-style grip, but otherwise, the gun looks more like a Colt, especially with the exposed ejector rod and Colt-style cylinder latch. There is also the "Special Police" version, outwardly similar to the Colt Detective Special (or Trooper, but with a 4-inch barrel).

Miroku Special Police with 2-inch barrel - .38 Special

The Miroku Liberty Chief is a revolver produced by the Miroku Corporation in Japan. The Miroku appears to have been made for Japanese police (which were armed with the Nambu Model 60 revolver), though given its time of manufacture, it might have also been produced as a competition piece as much as a Nambu replacement. The Japanese police used revolvers during that period, but preferred to switch to semiautos as soon as they were able, and so Miroku instead almost completely exported the gun to the US under the EIG and Liberty Chief names. Dimension-wise, it is roughly comparable to a S&W J-frame, and featured a Smith & Wesson "Chiefs Special"-style grip, but otherwise, the gun looks more like a Colt, especially with the exposed ejector rod and Colt-style cylinder latch. There is also the "Special Police" version, outwardly similar to the Colt Detective Special (or Trooper, but with a 4-inch barrel).
