Aria the Scarlet Ammo (緋弾のアリア Hidan no Aria ) is an anime television series animated by Studio J.C.Staff and based on the Japanese light novel series by Chūgaku Akamatsu. The series began airing on April 14, 2011 to July 12, 2011.
In this story, a system known as "Butei" (abbreviation of Busou Tantei[武装探偵], meaning "Armed Detective") was established as a qualification course to help curb the worsening crime rates in the world. Several specializations made into divisions exist for the "Butei" system, but all have the right to be armed and could arrest criminals as long as it falls under the conduct of the "Butei Law". Kinji Tohyama is a Butei student at Tokyo Butei High, but wants to quit due to personal reasons. However he was attacked by a criminal known as the "Butei Killer" and during the encounter, he meets with Butei prodigy Aria H. Kanzaki, who saves him. His story and interactions with this mysterious girl culminates into the series' story line.
