The Death Ray (Luch smerti)
Original poster
The Death Ray (Луч смерти ; Luch smerti ) is a Soviet 1925 B&W science fiction movie directed by Lev Kuleshov and Vsevolod Pudovkin. The Soviet inventor Podobed creates the "death ray", the powerful weapon capable of making explosions at distance. The invention is stolen by the agent of unnamed unfriendly state. There the "death ray" is used against labor strikes, but the revolted workers manage to seize the device and destroy military aviation sent against them.
Note: The original film is a severely damaged, so, restored, but watermarked version is used.
The following weapons were used in the film The Death Ray (Luch smerti) :
Pistols
FN Model 1900

Mauser C96 "Broomhandle"
Several Fascists, including Father Revo (Vsevolod Pudovkin ), use Mauser C96 "Broomhandle" pistols. Father Revo gives it to Female shooter (Aleksandra Khokhlova ), but she immediately gives it back. Only a single pistol can be seen at a time, so, it's most likely a single movie prop.

Note the rear tangent sight; in something of a display of wishful thinking, the C96's sight is adjustable for ranges up to 1000 meters. Later examples had a sight adjustable to a still unrealistic 500 meters. C96 pistols with fixed rear sights are very rare.
