'71 is a 2014 movie directed by Yann Demange. 1971: The Northern Ireland conflict escalates to civil war. Inexperienced English recruit Gary is ordered to work in Belfast. The situation there is even for experienced military commanders as confusing and overwhelming. The city is divided into "loyal" Protestant and "hostile" Catholic areas. Both areas have paramilitary units. In addition, even radical street gangs and undercover investigators of all sides try to enforce their interests on their own. During a raid, Gary and his squad get into a scuffle with an angry Catholic mob. Gary is separated from his unit and now has to stand alone in the middle of enemy territory.
The following weapons were used in the film '71:
Handguns
Browning Hi-Power
Browning Hi-Power pistols are seen in the hands of Lt. Armitage (Sam Reid) and Captain Sandy Browning (Sean Harris).
Colt M1911A1
The Colt M1911A1 pistol is used by an IRA member (Emmet Kirwan) and Sean at the end.
FN Model 1922
Sean Bannon (Barry Keoghan) uses an FN Model 1922 during the pursuit of Gary (Jack O'Connell) in the streets of Belfast.
Beretta Model 70
Sergeant Leslie Lewis (Paul Anderson) of the Military Reaction Force (MRF) carries a Beretta Model 70 as his personal firearm.
Unknown Revolvers
James Quinn (Killian Scott) and two other IRA members can be seen using different types of revolvers at the end.
Rifles
L1A1 SLR
British troops including Gary, Thommo (Jack Lowden) and Lt Armitage in Belfast are armed with the L1A1 SLR, the British variant of the FN FAL.
