The Energa (often written as ENERGA) is an anti-tank rifle grenade, designed by Liechtenstein company Anstalt für die Entwicklung von Erfindungen und Gewerblichen Anwendungen (hence the name of the weapon). Belgian company Mecar started the production in early 1950s, and soon Energa was issued by UK (as Anti-Tank Grenade, No. 94), Belgium, Netherlands and many other states. Current manufacturer of Energa (under the name R1M1) is South African Denel (former Armscor). US Army issued a domestic version of Energa, M28 rifle grenade and its training version M29.
Energa rifle grenades were launched from the following rifles:
- Lee-Enfield No.4 Mk.I (with Projector (No. 4 Rifle) Mark 5 launcher)
- FN Model 1949
- FN FAL, including British L1A1, Israeli IMI Romat and South African Vektor R1 versions
- M1 Garand (M28 grenade with T119 and M7A3 launchers)
- M1 Carbine (M28 grenade with T120 launcher)
- AR-10 (Portuguese model)
