The Big Racket (original title Il grande racket) is a 1976 Italian crime movie directed by Enzo G. Castellari. A district in the city of Rome is terrorised by a ruthless gang of racketeers. By beating, rape and arson they force the owners of shops and restaurants to pay them money for "protection". Police Inspector Nico Palmieri (Fabio Testi) is waging his own war against these criminals but he is not supported by his superiors. After Palmieri is fired from police he gathers a vigilante force.

A Walther P38 is a personal weapon of Sgt. Salvatore Velasci (Salvatore Borghese). In one scene Luigi Giulti (Renzo Palmer) fires a P38. P38s are also seen in hands of several of Rudy's henchmen.

Smith & Wesson Model 36 revolvers are seen in hands of criminals in several scenes.

Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolvers are seen in hands of criminals in several scenes. These revolvers can be original Smith & Wessons or Italian copies (like Bernardelli Nuovo Modello in .32).

Policemen carry Beretta Model 38/49 submachine guns during the shootout on the railway station and in several other scenes. Salvatore Velasci (Salvatore Borghese) is also seen with a Beretta Model 38/49.

Beretta Model 38/42 SMGs are also used by police.
Beretta M12
Beretta M12 are used by several of Rudy's henchmen. In the final scene Piero Mazzarelli (Glauco Onorato) is armed with Beretta M12.
M1A1 Thompson
Several of Rudy's henchmen carry M1A1 Thompson submachine guns. Piccio (Ruggero Diella) carries a Thompson in one scene. In the final scene Doringo (Romano Puppo) is armed with a Thompson.
Sten Mk II
Several of Rudy's henchmen carry Sten Mk II submachine guns of standard and Canadian versions.
MP40
Several of Rudy's henchmen carry MP40s. In the final scene Luigi Giulti (Renzo Palmer) is armed with an MP40. Most MP40s are fitted with brown Bakelite furniture that is typical for post-1943 manufactured MP40s.
