Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising: Difference between revisions
Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising is a 2004 first-person shooter computer game from Novalogic. Set in Indonesia in the near future, Joint Operations takes the player to a country on the verge of disintegration. Regional independence movements have acquired advanced weaponry as the nation's military splits into competing factions. Escalating violence threatens innocent civilians and Western economic interests.
The following weapons appear in the video game Joint Operations: Typhoon Rising and its expansion pack Joint Operations: Escalation:
Secondary weapon for all Joint Ops classes. It is a stand-in for the military M9. Called "M9 Baretta" ( note incorrect spelling, possibly a confusion between the American manufacturer Barrett and the Italian manufacturer Beretta ) ingame. This substitution also appears in Call of Duty's ModernWarfare series.
Colt M1911A1

Norinco Type 84S
Primary weapon for all Rebel classes. Available with and without the GP-30 grenade launcher to the Rifleman class. Called "AK-74" and "AK-74/GP-25" respectively. Like the alleged AK-47, this actually is a Norinco Type 84. Oddly, the magazine appears to be 5.45x39mm, which would be correct for the AK-74.

FIM-92A Stinger
The only anti-air weapon, available only to the Engineer classes of both sides. An oddity during a short time after the release of the game (the developers reacted to the community criticism later on) was that the Stinger was close to obsolete over short distances; it required two missiles to take down an aerial vehicle, while the AT4 only needed one. Called "Stinger".
GP-30
