It could also be a Model 24 in .44 Special (also a tapered-barrel N-frame), but this is unlikely. The revolver shown used has a tapered barrel, and not the heavy 'bull' barrel of the Model 29 (Though the 'Mountain Gun' variant of the Model 29 has a tapered barrel, it was not available when the movie was filmed).
