The Webley & Scott produced single-shot, break open Signal Pistols for used by British & Commonwealth Military Forces during the First and Second World Wars. Perhaps the most prolific of these was the No.1 MkIII, produced in 1911 at the company's Birmingham facility.

Webley & Scott No. 1 Mk III*
Added a flanged muzzle extension as a safety feature. Its purpose was to keep the operator's hand clear of the muzzle when the barrel was depressed for loading and unloading shells from its breech.
