Green Book is a 2018 biographical comedy-drama starring Mahershala Ali as Don Shirley, an affluent African-American concert pianist who hires Frank "Tony Lip" Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen), a bouncer, to drive him around during a concert tour in the Mid-West and Deep South in the 1960s. The film's title refers to the guide used by African Americans traveling in South during the time period. The film was co-written and directed by Peter Farrelly, one of the Farrelly brothers responsible for such comedies as There's Something About Mary and Dumb and Dumber. Green Book would go on to be nominated for five Academy Awards and would receive three, including the Awards for Best Picture and Best Supporting Actor for Ali.
