Olivier won an Academy Award in 1949 for his performance in the title role of Hamlet (1948), and two honorary Awards for overall achievement, one in 1947 for his combined role as director, producer and lead actor of Henry V (1944), and a second in 1979 for lifetime achievement. He was nominated a further nine times, including for Sleuth (1972), Marathon Man (1976) and The Boys from Brazil (1976).
