The Chief of Chukotka (Nachalnik Chukotki) is a 1966 Soviet adventure comedy by Vitali Melnikov.
The story takes place in 1922 on the far North-East of Russia. Young Red commissar Alexei (Mikhail Kononov) is sent to the Chukotka Peninsula to establish the Soviet power in this snow-covered land. He befriends Chukcha people and has to pass through many comic and tragic situations.
The following weapons are seen in the movie The Chief of Chukotka (Nachalnik Chukotki):
The Winchester Model 1895 rifles are seen in the movie, in carbine and sporting configurations. Khramov (Aleksei Gribov) has several M1895 rifles in his armory, and uses one when he tries to shoot Alexei. Later Alexei expropriates these rifles, and gave one to his friend Vukvutagin (Gennadiy Danzanov), and later uses the other rifle himself during the shootout on snow. Some hunters also carry the Winchester M1895s in the movie. All rifles are not Russian military contract Model 1895 (the lack of the loading bridge over the reciever is seen on several screenshots), but the commercial version (although the exact caliber is unknown).
