Monsieur Gangster (original title Les tontons flingueurs) is a 1963 French crime movie directed by Georges Lautner. Fernand Naudin (Lino Ventura), a former criminal turned an honest businessman, suddenly becomes a boss of a large crime empire after the former boss Louis the Mexican, Fernand's old buddy, dies. Now Fernand has not only to deal with other pretenders but also to become a second father for Louis' daughter Patricia.
The following weapons were used in the film Monsieur Gangster:
A version of Webley Bulldog (supposedly of Belgian manufacture) is carried by Fernand Naudin (Lino Ventura) in one scene.
Pistols
Luger P08 Artillery model
A Luger P08 Artillery model is used by Theo (Horst Frank) in several scenes. During the attack on Fernand's estate Theo's Luger is fitted with a sound suppressor. In the final shootout Theo uses his pistol with attached holster-stock.
One of the pistols used by Jean (Robert Dalban) during the attack on Fernand's estate is a version of Ruby Pistol. A Liberty model, produced by Retolaza Hermanos, corresponds the screen pistol very well.
Another Jean's suppressed pistol in the same scene also looks like some Ruby version. During the shootout Jean switches from one pistol to another or uses both pistols akimbo.
FN Model 1910/1922
In the extended cut version Jean (Robert Dalban) uses one more pistol during the attack on Fernand's estate: a FN Model 1910/1922. The pistol is suppressed, like all other firearms in this scene.
Undentifed pistols
Freddy (Henri Cogan) uses a suppressed pistol during the attack on Fernand's estate.
Vincent (Georges Nojaroff) uses a suppressed pistol in the same scene.
Submachine Guns
PPSh-41
During the first attempt to kill Fernand a PPSh-41 with drum magazine is used - a weapon, truly uncommon for French criminals!
Bergmann MP35/I
Theo (Horst Frank) used a Bergmann MP35/I when he makes an attempt to kill Volfoni brothers. During the final shootout Bastien (Mac Ronay) is armed with an MP35.
A Double Barreled Shotgun with sawn-off barrels and intact stock is used by Freddy (Henri Cogan) in the final shootout. He manages to fire it four times in a row without reloading.
