Malay Regiment is 2017 Malaysian war film directed by Dato' Jurey Latiff Rosli, based on the real-life events of Operations Kota Gubir I and II, where an elite soldiers from the 17th Royal Malay Regiment (17th RMR) unit have ambushed several communist camps at Malaysia-Thai border, near Gubir, Kedah.

The Smith & Wesson Military & Police revolver is used by Boon Seng (Lawrence Poh), the commander of the Malayan Communist Party in Gubir.

An M16A1 assault rifles is the standard service rifle seen carried by the majority of Malaysian security force, especially 17th RMR soldiers. These rifle was also seen in the hands of the MCP guerrillas.
Murata Rifle
At least one of the Communists carry long barreled anciet bolt action rifle, which resembles the Murata Rifle.
Unknown Rifle
The communist guerilla carries an unknown long-barrel rifle.

The standard general-purpose machinegun for Malaysian Army is the FN MAG since 1969 along with L1A1 SLR for defensive weapon or offensive mission.

A L2A1 is used by MCP guerilla during the battle against the 17th RMR soldiers.
Grenade launcher
M79 Grenade Launcher
Both MCP guerillas and 17th Malay Regiment soldiers uses M79 grenade launcher throughout the movie. In real life, this weapon used by guerilla to shots down the Sikorsky S-61A4 Nuri chopper, causing eleven soldiers, the pilots and crews perished in the incident.
