The End of Ataman (Konets atamana) is a Soviet 1970 adventure movie directed by Shaken Ajmanov. The story is set in 1920-1921 in Semirechye (Zhetysu) region in Central Asia (in modern days this region is in Kazakhstan and China). The local leader of White Army and hard enemy of Soviet power is Cossack Ataman Aleksandr Dutov. Chekist Kasym-khan Chadiyarov (Asanali Ashimov) infiltrates Dutov's headquarters and plays a key role in the victory over Ataman.
This movie starts the tetralogy about the adventures of Chadiyarov, followed by Trans-Siberian Express (Transsibirskiy ekspress) (1977), The Manchurian Variant (Manchzhurskiy variant) (1989) and Who are You, Mr. Ka? (Kto vi, gospodin Ka?) (2009).
The following weapons were used in the film The End of Ataman (Konets atamana):
In several scenes Chekists Kasym-khan Chadiyarov (Asanali Ashimov) and Nesterov (Yuriy Sarantsev) carry anachronistic FN Model 1922 pistols (probably the same movie prop reused), carries in wooden stock-holster of Mauser C96. There is no evidence that FN 1922 was ever used with such holster-stock (though FN Model 1903 was, but its holster-stock had different shape than the one of "Broomhandle").
White counterintellegence agent Usen (Zeinullat Setekov) has a sawed-off Single Barreled Shotgun that is taken by Kasym-khan Chadiyarov (Asanali Ashimov). It appears to be some Izhevsk exposed hammer model, possibly IZh-17.
