| The M320 grenade launcher is the replacement for the Vietnam-era M203 as the US army's 40mm underbarrel grenade launcher while other services use the M203. Created by Heckler & Koch and entering production in November 2008, it is a variant of the AG-C version of the Heckler & Koch AG36 Grenade Launcher originally developed for the Heckler & Koch XM8 but continued following that weapon's cancellation. The early XM320 version was all but identical to the AG-C, with the final M320 being distinguished primarily by the addition of a folding front grip. In July 2009 at Fort Bragg the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division field tested the M320.
