The following weapons were used in the film The Hunt for Red October:
M1911A1
The M1911A1 pistol appears several times towards the end of the film; first in the hands of Commander Bart Mancuso (Scott Glenn) and then being used by Jack Ryan (Alec Baldwin) aboard the Red October. It is interesting to note that although the M1911A1 Mancuso gives Ryan is in the classic leather holster Mancuso's is in the M12 Universal Military holster which was not available at the time the movie was set.
Makarov PM
The Makarov PM pistol appears in the film being wielded by the Red October's cook who ambushes the protagonists while they're attempting to evade the Konovalov, his attack fatally wounding Cpt. 2nd Rank Vasily Borodin (Sam Neill) and also wounding Captain Marko Ramius (Sean Connery) when he and Ryan pursue him.
Remington 870
During the battle with the Konovalov, sailors aboard the American frigate can be seen holding Remington 870 shotguns while guarding the rescued crew of the Red October.
M14 Rifle
Near the end of the film, an M14 rifle can be seen very briefly in the hands of a U.S. Navy sailor onboard the American frigate when the SH-60 Seahawk helicopter is launched to fire a torpedo at the Red October.
M16A1 Rifle
A U.S. military guard at the Patuxent River naval shipyard is seen with an M16A1 rifle slung over his shoulder.
AK-47
A Soviet Naval Infantryman in the Red October's conn can be seen armed with an AK-47. The AK-47 in the hands of the Naval Infantryman appears to be a Chinese Norinco Type 56 rifle (note the hooded foresight) standing in for a Russian AK rifle.
