The SA vz-58(Sometimes VZ58) is an assault rifle of Czechoslovakian design. Though it is externally somewhat similar to the AK-47 series of rifles, it is actually a much different weapon with the internals being closer to the STG 44. Despite firing the same cartridge (7.62x39mm) nothing is interchangeable with any of the AK-47 variants of rifles, and that includes the ammunition magazine.
The Sa vz 58 can be seen in the following films, television series, and video games used by the following actors:

- Roger Moore as James Bond in Octopussy
- Serbian soldiers in Behind Enemy Lines
- A Serbian gangster and Kim Bodnia as Harald in In China They Eat Dogs
In the special features portion of the DVD version of Doom, with Karl Urban and Dwayne Johson, the actors are shown using the vz58 during their weapons and tactics training.
