Far Cry 5 is the fifth main installment in the Far Cry series, set to be released in February, 2018. Whether it will be connected to the series' previous installments is yet to be revealed.
Far Cry 5 sees the player take control of an unnamed sheriff's deputy in the fictional county of Hope, Montana, in the United States. There, the deputy finds him or herself in conflict with Eden's Gate, a militarized doomsday cult led by radical preacher Joseph Seed and his immediate family. Unlike all of the series' games but Far Cry 2, the protagonist in 5 is silent and customizable.
The game heavily expands on features introduced in previous games - most notably, armed airplanes and helicopters are now available for the player. The player may once again carry up to four firearms of no particular type. However, a fifth slot is added for melee weapons, now part of their own category and usable for more than just button attacks, and a sixth for utility items like the repair tool (which no longer occupies a weapon slot.)
The following weapons appear in the video game Far Cry 5:
Pistols
"1911"
An M1911A1-style pistol returns from previous games as the "1911", although this time with a new model no longer apparently based on the Kimber Warrior as seen in Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 4. The scope mount (and presumably by extension any optics it would support) is apparently optional.
SIG-Sauer P226R
What appears to be a two-tone SIG-Sauer P226R is available.
Smith & Wesson Model 629
The Smith & Wesson Model 629 returns as the ".44 Magnum", although this time around it appears to be the standard variant rather than the Stealth Hunter of Far Cry 3 & 4.
Submachine Guns
Ingram MAC-10
The MAC-10 appears erroneously as the "M11." Markings on the MAC-10 indicate it is the 9x19mm variant, and in-game it has a 32 round magazine that accurately reflects that. By default it has no modifications, but rail mounts for scopes and optics can be added, as well as a suppressor.
MP40
The MP40 is also set to appear. The weapon features an aftermarket M1913 rail mount for seemingly no reason. Like the 1911 and MAC-10, the rail mount may be optional, though this is unconfirmed.
Assault Rifles
"AR-C"
A seemingly fictional rifle known as the "AR-C" is available. It appears to be like the previous games' "AK47" and POF P416, being the standard weapon for most enemies and allies. Though an amalgamation of different AR-15 type rifles, it is not seemingly based on a particular weapon model. The weapon has semi, auto, and burst fire available. Additionally, it appears that the weapon can be heavily customized - both short and long-ranged optics, suppressors, and even new barrel lengths can be added.
Shotguns
Heckler & Koch FABARM FP6
A Heckler & Koch FABARM FP6 with wooden furniture and aftermarket iron sights appears as the principal pump-action shotgun in Far Cry 5.
Sawed-Off Double Barrel Shotgun
A Sawed-Off Double Barrel Shotgun appears once again, retaining the name "D2" from Far Cry 4. This time, however, it has a new model, and no longer appears to be a cut down .700 Nitro Elephant Rifle. The new D2 has built in iron sights and a much cleaner finish.
Sniper Rifles
Desert Tactical HTI
The Desert Tactical Hard Target Interdiction (HTI) appears as the "MBP .50"
Machine Guns
Browning M2HB
The Browning M2HB appears as the game's standard heavy machine gun, mounted on both cultist technicals and in static positions.
Browning M2 Aircraft
Nick Rye's "Rye and Sons Hydroplane" is shown armed with two Browning M2 Aircraft machine guns alongside unguided bombs and rockets. These M2s are oddly in the "flexible" configuration - one intended to be manned directly by support gunners inside aircraft and thus able to rotate, despite Rye's plane using them as wing-mounted forward facing machine guns, where the "fixed" configuration M2s would be more appropriate. Of course, because his plane is a custom job, it's likely that the flexible mount variants were simply all that was available.
M60D
An M60D appears to be another vehicle-mounted weapon, used on cultist pickups.
Explosives
M26 Hand Grenade
The M26 Hand Grenade once again appears as Far Cry 5's fragmentation grenade of choice, and retains the egg-timer ticking sound heard when thrown in the previous two games.
Dynamite
Sticks of Dynamite are available as thrown explosives, thrown in the same manner as grenades. Dynamite has a longer fuse than grenades, but also creates a much larger explosion, and is especially effective at destroying vehicles.
Other
Cobray M11/9
Though the game's "M11" is actually a MAC-10, the icon for the gun appears to be a modified Cobray M11/9, which itself is a variant of the MAC-11.
Cover Weapons
The game's extended cover artwork features a large number of weapons, though not all of them are currently confirmed to appear in-game, so are instead listed here.
