Scent of a Woman (1992)

Scent of a Woman is a 1992 drama starring Chris O'Donnell as Charlie Sims, a young private school student who takes a job to be a caretaker for a weekend to Frank Slade (Al Pacino), a blind ornery former US Army officer. Charlie then finds himself on an unforeseen adventure as Frank decides to travel to New York City to accomplish some final tasks before he says he will kill himself. Scent of a Woman was directed by Martin Brest and Pacino would go on to receive the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the film.

The following weapons were used in the film Scent of a Woman:

Colt MK IV Series 80

Lieutenant Colonel Frank Slade (Al Pacino) carries a Colt MK IV Series 80 as his standard military issue sidearm. At one point in the film, Charlie Sims (Chris O'Donnell) finds Col. Slade assembling and disassembling the Colt, noting that it's a "piece" or "weapon", but never a "gun". He does this in about 25 seconds (which is significant since the Colonel is blind), noting that "you oughta be able to do a .45 in 25". What is notable is that he is first seen loading a mag with live rounds into his weapon, and then racking the slide, but the slide locks. He then does it again and this time does have a live round in the chamber. Slade is later seen with the weapon while in his dress uniform.
