Someone to Watch Over Me is a 1987 thriller directed by Ridley Scott and starring Tom Berenger as Mike Keegan, an NYPD detective who is assigned to protect and then becomes unexpectedly involved romantically with Claire Gregory (Mimi Rogers), the wealthy socialite who witnessed a murder.

NYPD Detective Mike Keegan (Tom Berenger) carries a Smith & Wesson Model 36 as his sidearm. He also keeps one in a holster underneath his kitchen table that his wife Ellie (Lorraine Bracco) uses later in the film.

In the climax of the film, Joey Venza (Andreas Katsulas) threatens Keegan's son and then Keegan with a Smith & Wesson Model 29.
