Columbo was an American crime television show that was originally part of NBC's Sunday Night Mystery Movie series. The show starred Peter Falk as Lt. Columbo, a quirky, but experienced LAPD detective who was seen solving primarily murder cases through his carefully-worded questions and his powers of observation. Each season of the series consisted of several feature-length episodes that would air throughout each year and the show would continuously air from 1968 to 2003. For the majority of the series, Lt. Columbo (Peter Falk) was not seen carrying a firearm while on duty. However, in the episode "Lady in Waiting " (S01E05) he disarm the assassin Beth Chadwick (Susan Clark), and in the episode "No Time to Die" (S11E02), what appears to be Smith & Wesson Model 36 snub revolver is seen in the hands of the detective. This also happens to be the revolver of choice for several other LAPD detectives.
