I edited the picture so the SP101 was the only thing in it. I got rid of the other version of the picture. -GM

SP101 vs. GP101

Could somebody explain what's the difference between the models GP101 (seen above) and SP101 (seen previous page)? I think it's the outside coating but I am not 100% sure, PeeWee055 (talk) 03:05, 3 November 2015 (EST)

Could be wrong, but I am pretty sure it is just a misprint in this case. I have never heard of the SP101, and to me the supposed GP101 above just looks like a 3" barrelled SP101. As for the apparently different finishes, it may just be a lighting issue but it could also be that the SP101 above has Ruger's "Target Grey" finish. This isn't a coating but rather I think that the stainless stell is bead blasted and then acid etched to give it a duller grey finish. This is still an SP101 though, it is just a different model (I believe distributor exclusive from Lipsey's). --commando552 (talk) 04:59, 3 November 2015 (EST)
Thanks for your response, I guess it's indeed a typo. Two reasons: (1) the above file is actually called SP101 (...) and (2) Google does not give any workable clues as to a revolver called GP101. I revised my entry back to SP101 as well as description line for above image. Take care, PeeWee055 (talk) 05:18, 3 November 2015 (EST)
A few years ago, people were referring to the stainless GP100 as a GP101, which was incorrect. There's no such thing as a GP101. There's the GP100 and the SP101. --Funkychinaman (talk) 06:29, 3 November 2015 (EST)
Lol, I never noticed it said 'GP101' before.. bah! Anyway, yeah that's a just a typo AFAIK. StanTheMan (talk) 13:30, 3 November 2015 (EST)
