Djimon Hounsou is a Bénin-born actor and former model, but now an American citizen. Djimon first gained acclaim for his role as Cinqué in the 1997 Steven Spielberg film Amistad and would subsequently go on to appear in such films as 2000's Gladiator, The Island, Special Forces, and Furious 7. He earned Academy Award nominations for his roles in the films In America and Blood Diamond.
