The Remington 7400 is basically a new and improved Remington 740.The 740 was manufactured in the 1950s and suffered a defect with the charging handle,the lugs on the inside wore out quickly and it didn't cycle correctly.I personally own a Remington 740 and i've seen the problem first hand,the rifle stovepipes frequently,and a gunsmith told me that Remington won't even fix them anymore--[[User:Rpphil96|Rpphil96]] ([[User talk:Rpphil96|talk]]) 22:48, 8 July 2015 (EDT)
