The Siege of Firebase Gloria is a 1989 Vietnam War film directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith and starring R. Lee Ermey and Wings Hauser as US Marines in a Long Range Recon Patrol who find themselves at an isolated American firebase that appears to be on the verge of an all-out assault by the Viet Cong.
The following weapons were used in the film The Siege of Firebase Gloria:
M14 Rifle
The M14 rifle is carried by Cpl. Joseph L. 'Nard' DiNardo (Wings Hauser). A scoped M14 is carried by the ARVN sniper in the LRRP team.
M16A1 Rifle
The M16A1 rifle, with 30-round magazines, are seen used by American forces in the film including Cpl. Joseph L. 'Nard' DiNardo and Sgt. Maj. Bill Hafner (R. Lee Ermey).
M60 Machine Gun
The M60 machine gun is used by a member of Hafner's LRRP team as well as other American forces at the firebase.
M60D Machine Gun
The M60D machine gun appears in the film door-mounted on UH-1 Huey helicopters.
Norinco Type-56
VC forces are armed with Norinco Type 56 rifles throughout the film. DiNardo briefly uses one in the final battle.
SKS Rifle
The VC sniper is seen armed with an SKS rifle.
M79 Grenade Launcher
The M79 Grenade Launcher is seen used both by DiNardo and Hafner.
Browning M2HB Heavy Machine Gun
Several Browning M2HB heavy machine guns are used in the film. A Browning fitted with an anti-aircraft target sight is used by VC forces who shot at American helicopters. US forces defending Firebase Gloria also are seen using them.
