The [[Skorpion SA]] appears in this game, and is used by some enemies. High short-range damage and an extreme rate of fire makes it effective up close, although it is hindered by a slow reload, low capacity of 20 .32 ACP rounds, and weak long-range damage.  The weapon also has very little muzzle climb, and due to an early glitch in multiplayer whereby damage did not decrease when silenced, the weapon has been banned from all major competitive leagues. The ban is likely for its ability to cause 50 damage at close range [Half the regular health, 1/4th of the damage in Old School, and kills in one shot on Hardcore].

The Following weapons appear in this game:

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007)

WARNING: Major plot spoilers in some of the weapon descriptions.

Pistols

Beretta M9

The Beretta M9 appears in the game, and is used by Sgt. Paul Jackson and many of the Marines and enemies as their standard sidearm. It is a relatively weak pistol, but has the highest magazine capacity of 15 rounds of 9mm and the lowest recoil allowing quick follow up shots. A sound suppressed version can be used in multiplayer.

INTERESTING NOTE: Take a close look at the first shot of the Beretta pictured in game. See that rounded trigger guard? The 92SB has the same trigger guard. Now, to be fair, the Army did conduct it's mid-1980s pistol trials with the 92SB before it evolved into the 92F (and later, 92FS) and some special forces units did use 92SBs as issued sidearms in the 1980s. But all signs in this game point to it being set in at least 2007. Interesting choice for the Marines...and while we're on that, doesn't Force Recon get issued in-house customized M1911A1s? Please correct me if I'm wrong. ----Clutch 03:53, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

You are correct, Clutch. Force Recon members are issued heavily modified 1911s. Quantico receives old 1911s and revamps them to be just, downright badass sidearms. The Winchester 03:50, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

H&K USP45

The H&K USP45 is seen in game as the sidearm of Sgt. "Soap" McTavish and many other SAS soldiers in the game. It has a underbarrel flashlight that is unused in the game. It uses .45 ACP rounds in a 12 round magazine. It's recoil, capacity and stopping power make this gun the most balanced in classes, being slightly more powerful than the M9, but not as powerful as the M1911A1 or Desert Eagle. It is clearly a USP and not a SOCOM. It has a USP safety, and several other features that are different from a Mk. 23. However, it is incorrectly seen with a HK1 LAM [Laser Aiming Module], which only fits the Mk. 23 SOCOM.

How is this less powerful than the M1911A1 when both fire the .45 ACP round? If anything it would be equal hitting power, but would offer more "firepower" because it holds more ammo.

Eh, video game logic. The Winchester 03:51, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Also, in the picture, it looks like it's missing part of the slide or something. It is not pushed back yet you can clearly see part of the exposed guide rod and barrel.

Its a threaded barrel for supressors. The Winchester
Wouldn't that make it a Tactical? It Doesn't have the adjustable sights,
Again, video game logic. Look at the m4s and m16s, they are missing the front sights and the barrels are too long. not too realistic. and use three ~ symbols to put your name, four for the date The Winchester

Actually the M9, USP, and 1911 all do the same amount of damage, 20-40. The only difference is the range at which the damage begins to decrease from 40 to 20. The M9 has the least range it does 40 damage up to 250 units, starts to lose power and does 20 damage from 500 units and farther. The USP has the best range, doing max damage at 500 units and minimum at 1000, and the 1911 is in the middle with max of 350 and min of 900.

Springfield Armory Professional 1911

A version of the 1911 makes an appearance in game as the "M1911 .45." Though no one knows what it's specifically modeled after, the gun that it resembles most is a Springfield Armory Professional model (as opposed to the aforementioned Kimber and MEU (SOC) pistols) Features like the stainless steel barrel and bushing, Novak sights and match grade trigger separate it from the Kimber and MEU SOC which do not have these. It is used in game by Sergeant "Soap" MacTavish, Captain Price, and Sergeant Paul Jackson as a sidearm in several levels, by Viktor Zakhaev to commit suicide, it is used by Captain Price to kill Al- Asad, and is unlockable in the multiplayer mode. It is also the gun slid to "Soap" in the final level by Price, used to take out Imran Zakhaev and his henchmen. Another stainless version is used by Staff Sergeant Griggs in the final level when tugging Soap to cover. I don't remember the Professional having cocking serrations on the front or a stainless steel barrel showing on the ejection port. My guess is the blued S&W SW1911 shown in the M1911 Pistol Series page.

IMI Desert Eagle

The Desert Eagle appears in this game and is the most powerful pistol holding 7 shots but having the most recoil. Two of the main villains, Khaled Al-Asad, and Imran Zakhaev, carry this pistol as their weapon of choice. Al-Asad uses his to kill President Al-Fulahni on TV. In single-player it is only usable once on the level "Crew Expendable" when a man with two of them jumps you on the ship. In split screen multilayer, it is a usable sidearm. However, it is locked in online multilayer until the player reaches the high rank of brigadier general. In competition gaming the Desert Eagle is almost unanimously the preferred pistol for its power and accuracy. This gun has a gold form that doesn't change stats.

Luckily in normal multiplayer this is the sidearm you get with the M60 which makes a badass combo, scare the crap out of them with the M60 run out of ammo and then kick ass with a pistol which is basically one shot kills

Shotguns

M1200

The Winchester 1200 appears in this game as the "W1200" and is used by some of the Marines and many enemies throughout the game. Gaz pulls out a Model 1200 in the "Crew Expendable" level, memorably quoting Hicks (Michael Biehn) (when he pulls out his Ithaca 37 "Stakeout") from Aliens, when he says he likes to "Keep it handy for close encounters". It is powerful at close range, but is slow to reload, and is seen as not even hitting anything past 10 feet. Lt.Vasquez carries one without the stock on his back although he never uses it.

The winchester 1200 was used by military units during vietnam and early conflicts, but was phased out for 1300s, so i believe this would be a 1300 in relaity-k9870

The statement it is powerful is an understatement, it blows the hell out of you opposition, at close quaters the winchester is just lethal

Benelli M4 Super 90

The Benelli M4 Super 90 appears in this game as the "M1014", and has a higher rate of fire than the W1200, but in multiplayer, has a lower magazine capacity, and like the W1200, has a slow reload time. It is used by some Marines and by Soap McTavish in the "Safehouse" level. This gun has a gold form.

Skorpion SA Vz.61

The SA Vz.61 Skorpion appears in this game, and is used by some enemies.

IMI Mini Uzi 9mm

The Mini Uzi appears in this game, and is also used by many enemies. Modeled with weaker damage, it fires 9mm rounds from a 32 round magazine at a high rate of fire. The high rate of fire with bouncing recoil leaves its accuracy poor for all but the shortest ranges. Zakhaev's son uses one while escorting Al-Fulahni to his execution, and while running from Soap, Griggs and Gaz right up until the end. This gun has a gold form.

H&K MP5A3 & SD

The H&K MP5A3 appears in this game and is used by Sgt. "Soap" McTavish (the player) and some of the SAS Operatives, and is also used by some of the enemies. The H&K MP5SD is also wielded by the player and some SAS Operatives in the prologue and epilogue levels. The SD model is fitted with a sound suppresor. The MP5 fires 9mm rounds from a 30 round magazine, while curiously it is attributed greater damage than the 9mm Uzi. Accurate and powerful in the game, it is a popular all-around weapon in multiplayer especially. The barrel in the MP5 is longer so the round exits the muzzle at a higher velocity.

I love the sound both of these make in the game the silenced version especially, and they are cracking weapons, it is possible to absolutely own people with one of these

PPSH

Although never seen or used in-game, many of the statues throughout the games's campaign and multiplayer levels hold a cement version of the Russian PPSH.

AKMSU

Like the P90, the Ak-74U is a sub-machine gun in name only. Firing 5.45x39mm intermediate rifle rounds, the Ak-74U is more accurately described as a miniature carbine. However, Call of Duty 4 does give it an attribute reflecting the nature of its rifle heritage. While it handles like the other SMGS, and its damage is modeled as equivalent to the H&K MP5, the Ak-74U can penetrate walls and other cover like the assault rifle class. None of the other SMGs have this advantage. With decent power and accuracy, the Ak-74U is an effective close and medium range weapon, with even-handling recoil and a high rate of fire from its 30-round magazine. In Campaign mode, it is mostly seen being used by Al Assad's forces in the Middle East and has a slower rate of fire than in multiplayer.

As much as I hate bringing this back up again, now that the whole AKMSU thing has been settled, I went back to this game roughly a week ago, and have just unlucked the "AK-74U" ingame once again. It is seen as having an underfolding stock, a Milled receiver, a ribbed handguard with an undermounted accessory rail (I believe thats what it is, I could be wrong), and yes and Orange Bakelite Magazine, but it curves too much to be a 5.45, making it a 7.62 ~ Revolver

FN P90 TR

The FN P90 TR, a version of the P90 with three accessory rails appears in the game, and is a rarely seen weapon (it is occasionally used by some of the enemies). Its sole "special" appearance is in "All Ghillied Up" as the P90SD (with suppressor and red dot sight), while in "Heat" and the epilogue mission "Mile High Club" it is simply the P90, unsuppressed and using open rail iron sights. In all versions it fires 5.7x28mm rounds from a 50-round magazine. As with its real world counterpart, the P90 is modeled with relatively weak per-hit damage and mediocre accuracy, but relies on a high rate of fire and large magazine capacity for its effectiveness. The weapon is easy to wield in multiplayer, so much so that it has been restricted in competitive play due to its "spray" advantage over other weapons. Despite however many additions, it always has a laser attached to the side rail, and if it does not have any special sights, it is seen as having HK Diopter sights.

File:P90TR.jpg

as someone deleted what i said i will say it again, this gun is the tits, you can easily tot up a high score as it isnt hard to aim

Assault Rifles

M16A4

The M16A4 appears in the game, used by many of the US Marines. One of the characters, Lt. Vasquez, who is Sgt. Jackson's commander in the US levels, carries an M16A4/M203 combo as his weapon of choice. Modeled as full-auto, which would really be an M16A3, in the single-player mode, it fires 5.56mm NATO from a 30 round magazine. In-game, the M16A4 is attributed the same damage as the AK-47 and G3, despite the real weapon having far from the energy of either. In multiplayer, it is modeled accurately as an M16A4, firing a very quick three round burst, but with a slight pause between bursts. This makes an on-target salvo from the M16 very effective, but also makes misses much more costly, especially in close-quarters when pitted against full-auto weapons. In Singleplayer the M16 is seen as fully automatic while still having the carrying handle of an A4, this is easily remedied by putting an A4 upper on an A3 Lower.

this is my favourite gun in the game as it has good accuracy and good stopping power and a good range, and the subtly named noob tube, which i think is a load of rubbish it takes some aiming

AK-47

The AK-47 appears in the game, and is used by most of the enemies and allied Russian soldiers. It fires 7.62x39mm rounds in a 30 round magazine. Some of them have GP-25 Kostyor 40mm muzzle loaded Grenade Launchers mounted on them. They feature a similar detonation safety as the M203 rounds meaning they are not recommended for close quarters. It is powerful and some-what accurate and is the equivalent to the M16 rifle. Online and especially in the competitive leagues, the AK-47 has become an established favorite for many of the same reasons it has in the real world; it is powerful and flexible, offering dependable performance in nearly every situation. This gun has a gold form most likely inspired by Saddam Hussein's gold AK-47. As another user pointed out, it is a hybrid, it is milled but has strengthening ribs

AKS-74

Although not seen or used in the game, in some levels as Sgt. "Soap" MacTavish, there are posters on walls giving the details of an AKS-74 assault rifle (mistaken for an AKM).

M4A1 Carbine

The M4A1 Carbine appears in the multi-player game with iron sights (which can be replaced with a red dot sight or ACOG scope), but appears in the single-player game only in three specialized versions: 1. The "normal" M4A1, used by the U.S. Marines in their missions and Soap in the final mission of the story with a Tasco red dot scope (exclusive to those missions) and forward handgrip (with no statistical effect unlike the multiplayer attachment for shotguns and machine guns), 2. the M4A1 Grenadier, which uses a EOTech Holographic Weapon Sight (exclusive to "The Bog," "War Pig," and "Shock and Awe" single-player missions) and M203 grenade launcher, 3. and the M4A1 SOPMOD, used by the SAS with a red dot sight (the one used in multi-player), a suppressor, and the M203 grenade launcher. This is slightly inaccurate, as the actual SAS uses the Canadian C8SFW, a similar weapon to the M4.

The M4A1 is a fully automatic firing carbine version of the M16 rifle and being such is modeled to have quicker but less accurate and stable handling. While damage can be expected to be lower due to a shorter barrel, the game exaggerates this difference, modeling similar damage characteristics as the Uzi and P90. This may have been intended to reflect the nature of the carbine as a bridge between a battle rifle and an SMG/PDW.

this rifle is cracking in game, it has a good range, good accuracy, and very good stopping power

H&K G3A4

The H&K G3A4, noted by collapsing stock, and a normal length barrel, distinguishing it from the G3KA4 appears in this game and, like the AK-47, is used by many of the enemies in the game. It has full-auto function in single-player, but is reduced to semi-auto in multiplayer. The G3A4 fires 7.62x51mm NATO from a 20-round magazine. In the game, the damage from this round is made equivalent to both the AK-47 and M16A4 despite its real-world energy being much higher than either. The M14, which fires the same ammunition and is in the same class however, is correctly modeled as being more powerful than rifles firing intermediate cartridges such as the 5.56x45mm NATO or the 7.62.x39mm Soviet. The in-game weapon correctly reflects the real-world high accuracy of the G3, but its recoil is made to be incredibly light, much milder even than the AK-47. It can be used quite effectively at long ranges, but being semi-auto in multiplayer requires a quickness on the trigger to be able to keep up with other weapons up close.

H&K G36C

The H&K G36C appears in this game and is used by the SAS, the allied Russian soldiers in "Safehouse" and many enemies late in the game. It has a Tasco Laser Scope in single player and open sights in multiplayer. It comes with a 30 round 5.56mm magazine. It slightly heavier recoil and slower rate of fire than the M4, but much less sight sway. It is modeled with equal damage to the M4, reflecting its intermediate status as a compact assault-rifle carbine.

this is one of the most underated guns in the game, everyone says its rubbish, but its awesome, good rate of fire, good accuracy and good stopping power

M1A Bush Rifle

The M14 Rifle appears in the game, with a Knights Armaments RAS [Rail Adapter System] Fore end, an RAS scope mount, and heat shields on the side rails. It fires 7.62x51mm from a 20 round magazine, like the G3, but unlike the G3 is accurately portrayed as being significantly more powerful than the other assault rifles, and has a hefty recoil befitting the powerful cartridge.

It is also modified as a sniper rifle, the M21. Strangely, the M21 is a modified M14, although often with a smaller 10-round magazine, but have much different attributes in the game.

Sturmgewehr 44

The Sturmgewehr 44 appears in multiplayer only and is unlocked at a high rank. It was the first true assault rifle ever created firing a 7.92 Kurz round in a 30 round curved box magazine. It is powerful but inaccurate, has high recoil and actually weighs your character down [somewhat like Machineguns do]. It is in the game as an ode to the previous COD games which the gun was featured in.

Sniper rifles

M21 Sniper Rifle

The M21 Sniper Rifle appears in this game in both suppressed ("M21 Suppressed") and unsuppressed versions. It is used by the SAS and Marine snipers. It is a top of the line M14 rifle fitted with a scope (and a RAS mount for that scope), Knights Armaments RAS (Rail Adapter System) Fore end, heat shields on the side rails, and a smaller 10 round magazine.

this rifle is quite a handy one to use because it has a reasonable rate of fire it can be used in close quaters, but its reall talent lies in sniping because unlike some rifles you can supress an opposition player because of its higher rate of fire

Remington Model 700PSS

The Remington Model 700PSS appears in this game as the "R700", whilst it is very powerful, it has the shakiest in scope view. and frequently misses where it as actually shooting. Its heavy recoil also consumes time for a follow up shot. It is used by "Soap" McTavish in the single-player exclusively in the "Sins of the Father" mission, prior to the pursuit of Victor Zakhaev. It holds four rounds of .308 Winchester (7.62x51mm NATO). The caliber is determined based on the size of the bolt and breech. Oddly, the M40A3 also seen in game is very much the same weapon, although in the game they have slightly different attributes.

Dragunov SVD

The Dragunov SVD appears in this game and is used by all enemy snipers in the game. It was designed in the 60s as a replacement in Russia for the outdated Mosin-Nagant rifle. It is well known for its power, precision, and reliability. It's design is mainly based on the AK-47, but is chambered in 7.62x54R(immed) cartridges for increased range and power. It's weight and recoil makes it difficult for some scenarios. It is recommended to any player common to the sniper rifle. This gun has a gold form.

Barrett M82

The Barrett M82 appears in the game, unlocked in multiplayer as a portable weapon and in a single player mission as a stationary weapon (with variable zoom and unlimited ammunition), and is the most powerful sniper rifle in the game. Lieutenant Price, in the single-player mission "One Shot, One Kill", uses the Barrett M82 to shoot Zakhaev's left arm off from a mile away. The rifle was first invented after soldiers were found needing more than a single-shot .50 caliber rifle and/or bolt action. This gun allows a skilled marksman to fire off 10 rounds in 10 seconds. It is extremely accurate at long distances, powerful enough to sever limbs[but this is rare] and shoot through walls. It fires .50 BMG ([12.7x99m]) rounds from a 10 round magazine. It's 30 pound weight proves a problem in combat and in usually more useful when stationary than running cross-country.

Machineguns

M249 SAW

The M249 SAW appears in the game, used by the US Marines and members of the SAS (which is an innaccuracy as the SAS would use the FN Minimi, not the american M249). The M249 fires 100 or 250 round belt boxes of 5.56x45mm rounds at a rate of 850 RPM. It's accuracy is moderate to good and power equivalent to a M16, but is great for support. The weapon itself replaced the use of two M16A2 rifles in the typical US Army squad adding supplemental automatic fire to the A2's 3 round burst hence the designation Squad Automatic Weapon. Also the weapon can use M16 magazines, increasing its versatility.

This gun is a great gun to have in a tight situation because if your inside you can just fire through the walls, again for a gun with such a high fire rate it can be very accurate.

Its a handy gun to have as in this game the online or multiplayer games can be at best hectic at worst downright confusing and this gun will keep you alive in that situation

Degtyarev RPD

The Degtyarev RPD Light Machine Gun appears in the game, and is the LMG used by the enemies in the game. It fires 7.62x39mm rounds from a 100 round belt box. It is loud, accurate, and intimidating. After a long period of service it was replaced, in the 1960s, by the RPK light machine gun which was itself an evolution of the conventional Kalashnikov design.

M60E3

The M60E3 appears in the "Last Stand" at the end of the game used by one of the soldiers accompanying Zakhaev, and usable in the last level if you kill the first driver pulling up to the destroyed bridge. He jumps out armed with one ready for your use and for some reason the single player version fires faster than the one in multiplayer. It is also more common in multiplayer. It fires .308 rounds from a 100 round belt box. The M60 was first used in Vietnam and had several problems. The M60E1's barrel overheated quickly requiring frequent changes, and the removal of the barrel required some disassembly of the weapon. The barrel had no way to remove it except to grab directly to the barrel(which would be most likely red hot). It also was somewhat unreliable. (No soldiers were complaining though because they no longer had to lug their 30 lb. 1919s anymore.) The M60E2 was a mounted gun that was no different than the E1 in function. The M60E3 had a shortened barrel, a more reliable system, a foregrip, and an easy to remove barrel. Although the shorter barrel overheated even faster, the easy removal system made it less of a hassle. The game incorrectly refers to it as the M60E4, which has a much shorter barrel than the one featured on the E3.

This gun in the game is simply put an awesome gun, it will shoot through walls with ease, and your oppo's crap themselves when you fire one at them, it is surprisingly accurate and is a good weapon to have if your outnumbered as you often are in online play.

GE M134 Minigun

The GE M134 Minigun appears as a player-usable stationary weapon mounted on a downed helicopter in "Heat" and is used by a door gunner on a Blackhawk in both the prologue level and in "The Sins of The Father" level. The minigun holds the world record for cyclic rate in a weapon using an functioning action (Metal storm holds the new title for non-function as all rounds are fired at once in stacks). It fires at a rate ranging from 3000-6000 RPM depending on model. It fires either .308(7.62x51mm) or .223(5.56x45mm) also depending on model.

GE M134 Minigun

It should be noted that in the game, when "Soap" is covering his unit's withdrawal using the minigun in the crashed Blackhawk, the weapon should not be working. When mounted on an aircraft the weapon is hooked into the aircraft's electrical system otherwise it would require a large external battery. It might actually have been probable, if the helicopter had only crashed an hour or two before the minigun was used. However, that's assuming that the crash didn't damage the battery

Explosives

M18A1 Claymore Mine

The M18A1 Claymore Mine appears as a weapon the player can set for ambushing enemies. The claymore is directional, firing 100s of steel balls forward at the victim, killing whatever steps in front of it. (Hence stamp on side back saying "BACK" and front side saying "FRONT TOWARDS ENEMY".)

FGM-148 Javelin

The FGM-148 Javelin anti-tank guided missile launcher is used in the single-player missions "The Bog" and "Heat" to destroy enemy tanks; it is single-shot, requires a lock-on to fire and can only lock onto (and thus fire at) those tanks, but in-game these units holds unlimited missiles.

Mk 19 grenade launcher

The Mk 19 grenade launcher appears as a player usable weapon mounted on a CH-46 Sea Knight helicopter. It was first developed in Vietnam and fires 40mm grenades off of a belt link. It overheated very rapidly though and is recommended for use in single shots.

M136 AT4

Some Marine NPCs have M136 AT4 strapped to their packs. It cannot be used in game, but was originally intended to be. It should be noted that on some levels you can get the AT4 with the "Give All" Cheat, i don't remember which levels... but it hink it can be useble in the same level as you are using the Mk 19.

M203/A1/PI

All three incarnations of the M203 Grenade launcher are used in game. This weapon in multi-player is commonly referred to as the 'noob tube' because of it's ability to get a kill without any real use of skill or accuracy. Many players are looked down upon for using this weapon attachment. To balance this out using the M203 negates the ability to select a perk from the perk 1 options.

The M203 is only seen on the M16A4, Notable by the longer barrel.

The M203A1 is seen on the M4A1 only, notable by still being of the larger persuasion, but with a shorter barrel.

The M203PI Is seen used on all other assault rifles [Except the AK-47], it is much smaller, and has a short barrel, designed for being mounted on other weapons.

GP-25 Grenade Launcher

The GP-25 grenade launcher is seen on the AK-47 only, while it is 40mm, it is seen as being able to use the same rounds as the M203s, which it cannot. One is also seen mounted on an AK-74U in the armory in the tutorial. This could be remedied easily as putting the M203PI on the AK-47.
