Sharknado (2013)

Sharknado is a science fiction horror disaster film that premiered on Syfy in 2013. The films follows the events that occur when a rogue cyclone that appears to have picked up several sharks inside of it hits the city of Los Angeles. The film was produced by The Asylum, a movie production company known for making "mockbusters": low budget knockoffs of major motion pictures. The film received spectacular ratings for SyFy and would spawn several sequels: 2014's Sharknado 2: The Second One, 2015's Sharknado: Oh Hell No!, and 2016's Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.
