Hacksaw Ridge is a 2016 World War II film directed by Mel Gibson and tells the true story of Desmond T. Doss (Andrew Garfield), a US Army medic who refused to carry a weapon into the war due to his religious beliefs and ended up receiving the Medal of Honor for saving the lives of 75 of his fellow soldiers. The cast also included Vince Vaughn, Sam Worthington, and Teresa Palmer.
